Location :
Gothenburg, Sweden

On 25-26 September 2018, the Chalmers University of Technology, Swedish Electromobility Centre, IUSDRP, World Sustainable Development Research & Transfer Centre and Haw Hamburg are hosting the Symposium "The Future of E-Mobility in Europe" in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Electro mobility (or E-Mobility) is a fast growing field. The concept entails the use electric powertrain technologies, in-vehicle information, and communication technologies and connected infrastructures to enable the electric propulsion of vehicles and fleets. The development of this field is mostly driven by the need to meet emission reduction requirements, by the pressures to make transport more energy-efficient, as well as by market demands for lower operational costs.

“The Future of Electro-Mobility  Europe" Symposium aims to help build a better understanding of how the field of E-Mobility is developing in Europe, including the identification of approaches, processes, methods and tools which may help European countries to better take advantage of the many possibilities E-Mobility offers, and the need to showcase successful examples of how E-Mobility can be implemented in cities and rural areas, and how it may be better accepted across many stakeholders and society, so as to catalyse the sort of cross-sectoral action needed to move it forward.

The Symposium will be an interdisciplinary event, mobilizing the automobile and associated services industry, representatives from government agencies and municipalities, and scientists/engineering undertaking research and/or executing projects on E-Mobility across the European continent.
